Yeah... what can Lucia be thinking if Wisconsin (six national titles), Denver, (seven national titles), and a good CC program were interested in the kid too?

JR... you have an embarrassing lack of insight.

What is Don doing? he has picked up right where he left off recruitment wise. Nice kid, but D1 caliber?

Lucia needs to get his house in order soon...and it needs to begin with player selection. as has been noted on this blog by comments left during the season...U of M hockey is like North Carolina basketball...they should have their pick of anyone they want. And all we see the last three years is mistake after mistake. Come on Don, earn this. This team should compete for the title every year.

I doubt the partnership will affect things all that much for college hockey. The CJHL will still be considered a feeder for college because it will never overtake the CHL as a development route for Canadian kids looking to make a quick jump to the pros. The only way the CJHL can differentiate itself from the CHL and attract good players is by emphasizing itself as a route to get a scholarship and play college hockey. Because it will never be able to compete on equal footing with the CHL by trying to build itself up as an NHL feeder. The CHL is too well developed for the CJHL to ever try to beat it at its own game. You have a bad take on this one Roman.

Thanks for the nice comment Texas Gopher. The beauty of blogs is you can read as much or as little as you want for free.

So anytime you need a little maroon and gold fix, come on back you all.

it's fine by me if the players that see a year or two in college as a stepping stone to the nhl try their luck in canadian juniors instead. catering to players like okposo, johnson and kessel (not saying they are bad kids or anything) set the gophers back years. we all knew they weren't sticking around...
