Greengirl is 30!

To celebrate my big 3-0, I took a week of vaction from the ol’ Strib.

Though I’m not binge drinking with pirates or saving baby pandas with eco-ninjas, there are exciting plans in the works — Very, very exciting plans indeed.

I’m gonna repot my seedlings, plan out my raised beds and dig up all the sedum in the front yard.

Heck, I might just buy myself with a nice new bird bath or hardcover copy of “The $64 Tomato.”

Hooray for 30!

Happy B-Day Jaime! No eco-ninjas this year? Here’s hoping the next 30 are just as great. Keep up the good blogging. Congrats on the guild gig as well!

I’m halfway through the $64 Dollar Tomato. So buy yourself that birdbath and I’ll give you my copy of the book when the curtain drops on your weeklong celebration!

For what you save borrowing the book from Robyn you can buy some swell yard art for the front un-gardened area. Maybe one of those swell birds made from trowels and hand rakes….or a gazing ball… what about a yard pond…. The possibilities boggle the mind.
Have a great day and week!

Happy Birthday Jamie, Welcome to the 30+ demographic set. Have fun replanting, seems never ending in my house. :)
Have a great week off!

A sedun-free yard. What a great thought!

I’m not sure how tramadol will help with the yard. A colorful drink with a paper umbrella would be much nicer.

Happy Birthday Greengirl–love the cake and the Bert and Ernie partyware. Found myself oddly depressed by today’s Strib article about building luxury highrises so people with “more money than time” can continue to isolate themselves. As we are picking asparagus faster than we can possibly use it, hauling out all of our favorite rhubarb recipes, and comparing notes over whose radishes are up, I really can’t imagine wanting or needing to “outsource my hassles.”
Having multiple homes cannot compete with the joy of starting plants from seeds or the taste of your first ripe tomato.
OK, got that off my chest, I feel better. Enjoy your weeklong celebration–and be gentle with the sedums.

Happy Birthday Jamie. It’s been years! Glad to see you’re doing well. I’m anticipating my 30th this fall. Any good tips on that? ;-)

Jamie Chismar! Jaime Chismar! Jamie Chismar! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!

S and I need to have you over to see our backyard masterpiece once it’s a master piece instead of mini pieces. You are the inspiration for all of our perspiration. Curse you!

I’d hold off and get a copy of the book from the library. Save your birthday money for something better!
