What’s growing in the garden?

After a weekend of rain, my garden is starting to look like, well… a garden.

I can’t remember if these are the purple, yellow or my fancy new Fin de Bagnol beans.

My potato plants turned into blooming potato hedges in just two weeks.

This is my first borage blossom. It seeded itself from last year and the bees just love it. My carrot patch is totally out of control and needs a good thinning. On your recommendation, I planted snap peas this year. They are so sweet and crunchy, I wish the whole back yard was coverd in twisty snap pea vines. Yum!

I just love how borage does the pink to blue thing with the flowers. The cucumber flavor is also nice, and the fact that you only have to plant them once, and never again for the rest of your life.

My quiz scored me as a snapdragon, too. I like the quizes where I can look ahead at the results bettter, though. I can adjust my answers accordingly. Don’t tell me you don’t do that, we all do.

Greengirl says: I love the pink to blue blossoms, too. They make great additions to salads. Guests are absolutely tickled when they discover little stars on their plates.

So, you like to outsmart a quiz to alter the results? You sound like mischief-making snapdragon to me!

Cool pix — especially of the borage. I gotta plant some so my bees can enjoy it. But, what do humans do with borage?

Greengirl says: Their mild, cucumber flavor make them perfect for salads. You can also add them to mojitos or mint juleps - Yum!

I’m no expert, but the beans look suspiciously like the Fin de Bagnol that I planted in April. That’s what I’d put my money on. The purpley-pink skin looks familiar.

We’ve had a nice spring here in Madison, so I enjoyed the first couple of handsful of beans last night for dinner.

Great pictures & great blog!

Greengirl says: You’re right! That *is* the Fin de Bangol. When I planted the bed, I remember admiring its marbled exterior. I was just so excited to have sprouts, I should’ve looked closer at the skin. Thank you!

I’m liking my snap peas, too. Next year I’ll give them some more room and a sturdier, taller trellis.

The Friendly Robotics Robomower is the best lawn mower in the world. The RL 1000 and RL 850 are the two models of robotic lawn mowers that they manufacture. Check them out. They will change your life. You will no longer have to mow your own lawn or pay someone to do so for you. You can actually program the RL 1000 to mow your lawn at a specific time on a specific day. This product is revolutionary!

Ames:

I have a Robomower. It works great.

We use it to mow our lot. It is about a third of an acre.
