Giddy with harvest happiness?

With all the rain, my grass (that’s my lawn, not my sprig of ditchweed, just for those of you keeping track) is growing faster than anything in my garden lately. And that might be okay.

I’ve spent the week canning pickles, pasta sauce, salsa and about four kinds of jelly. I’m out of lids, out of jars, and out of the mood — at least for the moment.

Where are you at with your garden? Are you giddy with harvest happiness? Or have you entered the zone of indifference?

Mood: “giddy with harvest happiness”

I got a bit of a late start planting so I’m just starting to ramp up to full on harvest mode. Being my first year growing veggies, I hope I don’t get burned out anytime soon.

I wish the ants would stay away from the tamatoes, and looks like something is enjoying the green beans.

Plus we have had enough rain for another week.

I went a little crazy last week. Stayed up till midnight (on a school night!) making pesto and roasted red peppers. I’ve been making refrigerator pickles almost every week. (I’m too afraid of my limited canning skills to can them.)But, like Jeff, I planted a little late (OK, a lot late) and don’t really know when my meager harvest is going to come in. Hopefully, it’ll stay warm for a while . . .
