Impressive statistics

Just a quick note to say that Eric Decker and Jeff Tow-Arnett have both been honored for their classwork by the college sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Both Decker and Tow-Arnett were named first-team academic all-academic in District V.
Decker is a business marketing education major with a 3.47 GPA. Tow-Arnett has the same major and is holding a 3.81 GPA. Both will be eligible for CoSIDA all-america honors, which will be announced Nov. 25.

It’s always nice to read about this kind of news. Scholars and athletes… that can make us proud.
Where’s Susie?
1989 was the last time a Gopher Football player won CoSIDA all-america honors. With Deckers statistics on the field, he should have a good shot.
Thanks for the update, Kent!
Great job, Eric and Jeff! You do us proud! Keep it up!
Well done! Now, we need MORE players to do this! The more the better.
If Decker plays and contributes to a Gopher win, it will be nothing short of incredible.
I love reading about success in the classroom more than on the field, congrats to both these guys, way to make us proud!!!!
Maybe Eric or Jeff can start their own business and give Wrendahl a job,so his wife can quit one. Don’t you think its time Wren?
Everyone please show up at the victory walk on Saturday at 9am on the Metrodome Plaza. We have BIG TIME recruits coming in and they love the attention they get. It helped for the OSU game last year.
Pleased to get under your skin again derek…aka bb, contrast and opposing opinions seem to have a powerrful impact on your personality. You are so obsessed. It’s what you don’t know that makes you so incredibly wrong and so incredibly foolish derek aka bb. As long as you keep it clean and keep it sanatized all is well. Step out of line and the management will need to become involved.
Instead of getting into pissing matches how about you boys show up at the Victory Walk!
Hit a nerve huh Wren? You do have probems with authority figures, right.
Yes, lets all get to the Victory Walk at 9:00 a.m. on the Metrodome Plaza. This is important to the players and the large number of recruits attending. Lets ALL support the Gophers! Go GOphers…the train is rolling on!
Get there early. Wear Gold. Bring home the jug.
punky having so much success with mason recruits hes going after a blast from the past:

Wonder who will be taking the ACT for him to get him in this time?
A big turn out at the Victory Walk in the middle of a snow storm would definitely say something about the fan base and the overall attitude of Minnesotans to the recruits! I’ll be out tailgating rain/snow or shine! Stop on over for some coffee and baileys.
Not to be a downer, but I don’t think the Victory walk will take off until next year. Dome just sucks for people to show up early and then find something to do.
I’ve never actually been to it yet. Just wanted to be trendy and put in a plug.
“Just wanted to be trendy and put in a plug.”
California voters just said that is no longer trendy!
Recruiting–
1. He’s at Juco. You’re an idiot if you believe he has to take the ACT to get in to school from a Juco.
2. We already got Hayo Carpenter, our number one Juco target at WR, and we only plan to take on Juco receiver…that means we no longer have interest in Howard.
3. I wouldn’t bother shooting down your attempt at a joke if you weren’t so snide and negative. What are you even looking for from the program? What do you want to see?
IMO Roof has established himself as a top notch DC. This game will be a good test for Dunbar. Here’s to hoping he comes through with a game plan that works.

Yes he has but the new talent recruited this year is what is making all the difference. Lawrence, Simmons, and Brock, the position moves and development of Sherels and Campbell, and the development of Theret and Onwuachi over last year all has combined to make this a decent defense.
Of course, having Willie healthy is the biggest individual difference since last year.
Congratulations Eric and Jeff. You both represent the Golden Gopher’s Football Program and the State of Minnesota very well. Especially nice to see this well earned Honor awarded to 2 Minnesota home-grown kids from outstate Minnesota.
