An early Tuesday update
Posted on November 11th, 2008 – 2:08 PMBy Kent Youngblood
 By now you’ve heard that Eric Decker’s ankle sprain will keep him out of Saturday’s game. So, how’s this for ironic news: The Tallahassee Quarterback Club announced it’s lists of finalists for the Biletnikoff Award given to the top wide receiver in the country. Decker, not surprisingly, is on the list.
Here are the other finalists:
Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State;
Chase Coffman, Missouri;
Austin Collie, BYU;
Quan Cosby, Texas;
Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech;
Casey Fitzgerald, North Texas;
Jarrett Dillard, Rice;
Jeremy Maclin, Missouri
Kerry Meier, Kansas

What a great tribute to Eric Decker that he would be on a list and on a par with these great receivers.
No offense to deck, cause i love his toughness, but he doesnt even compare to a crabtree. When people say he is the best reciever in the country, they are lieing to themselves. Crabtree is a freak of nature.
Yes, Crabtree is amazing. I couldn’t believe him the last 2 games.
DECKER = COWARD. GET HIMOFF THE LIST!
gopherphan … Crabtree is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete for a school. No doubt. Will he be close to the top of the draft one day? No doubt.
I have called Decker the best college football player in the country. There is a lot of subtlety in that statement that needs to be explained.
In calling him that I readily admitted he will not win a Heisman, might not be All-American, and may or may not play on Sundays.
What it means is that Eric Decker embodies something that many future pro players may not — the heart and soul to be the best when he wasn’t considered the best, when he doesn’t play with the best team, when he’s not the biggest or fastest.
Decker does not have the physical ability of a Crabtree or Dez Bryant. He doesn’t have Graham Harrel to throw him the ball. He doesn’t have the Texas Tech offensive line to give his quarterback and day and a half to throw after the receiver has made several moves and screwed the defender into a wine bottle.
Decker doesn’t have Oklahoma, Texas, or Florida media to make him a rock star. He doesn’t play on a team that intimidates the opponent by stepping on the field.
Yet through all that, Decker catches footballs. He catches footballs that some of those guys could not. He gets open in a phone booth, gets the right yardage, and catches the ball. He competes and competes and never stops competing.
That is why I say, considering where Decker came from, his physical skills, his height, size, and speed, his team, his environment … considering all of that, his performance says he’s as good as any college player in America. For me, that makes him the best.
What it means is that Eric Decker embodies something that many future pro players may not — the heart and soul to be the best when he wasn’t considered the best,
IS THAT WHY HE WILL BE SITTING ON THE BENCH POUTING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOST THEIR BARBIE THIS SAT?
Go stick it, wrenbawl. Take your mental illness somewhere else.
Congrats to Eric. A well deserved honor. He may not be the best WR in the country but you would be hard pressed to name 5 guys that are MVP above him for their team.
These fools always buy it when I hijack somebody’s identity and make horse-crap comments. I’m so good at being a real name-calling bastard!
My primary goal over here is to disrupt things and try to bring this blog down. I want total thought control and I will go to any lengths. I have been diagnosed as a total sociopath and I will stop at nothing. I am Recruiter. I am jimbo. I am all kinds of people. I am one of the drunk-a-logue people over on gh.
I will bring this blog down. That IS my goal. It is too hard to control thought and expression on this board. I will go to what ever lengths I have to go to so that I may destroy any point of view other than my own. I am dac!
D.A.C. couldnt agree with you more. Decker, along with Weber, are the toughest players i know of in college football. They play with alot of heart and passion. All i meant was, talent wise, i dont think he should be on that list.
