Looking ahead

The recruiting machine keeps running with the news — first found on GopherIllustrated.com — that the Gophers have added a second player to the 2010 class in Maywood, Illinois Proviso Easy cornerback Antoine Lewis.

Lewis joins highly-rated Schofield (Wis.) D.C. Everest linebacker Konrad Zagzebski.

What I find interesting in the Lewis situation is that co-defensive coordinators Kevin Cosgrove and Ronnie Lee were instrumental in ultimately landing Lewis. When Cosgrove was hired one of the things coach Tim Brewster touted was Cosgrove’s ability to recruit the Midwest. Looks like we’re already seeing the benefit of his connections in the region.

That’s about all. Have a good week.

In the past we have gotten two great Gopher BB players out of Proviso East (a western suburb of Chicago).

Can not have too many CB’s if they can play.

Loon … I recall Jim Brewer was from Proviso East. Who was the other?

I have used this word, relentless, to describe Brewster, but the guy really seems to be putting in some serious OT.

Loon-Proviso East is a High School, not a suburb. It’s located in Maywood, near other suburbs like Melrose Park, Oak Park, River Forest, etc. Im originally from the area.

I understand that very well, I participated in several track meets at Proviso West when I was young and saw Jim Brewer play when he was a sophomore in the Proviso West Christmas BB Tournament. He was a man/boy even at that age. I attended Maine West.

Ya but, can any of the kids help this team?

Time will tell if the kids can play. That’s the nature of recruiting. The positves aspects come from being able to recruit from areas where the program was not able to recruit from before. So far, Brewster has shown that he can generate excitement and interest about his team. He has done a very good job of upgrading the athletic composition of this team. Hopefully we will have some stability at the coaching positions now, and the increased talent will translate to continued improvement on the field.

Go Gophs!!

No one can blow smoke up a recruit’s a@@ while giving him a reach around like coach Brewstir! No one! We are rosebud bound, right Clint?!

So far he has “landed” a gimp and an idiot who between them had ZERO other options, so why don’t you idiots just STHU! Gold04 where are you? Sounds like these skin-stretchers need a good pivot man to sing the rouser while they cuff their carrots!

Will you still feel the same when he de-committs in Jan, Bisker? See Nortman.

Why the “tuff-talk-tough-guy…” bisker, baskert, biffer, basher????? Some of you gh dudes and dudettes really are going to probably go “postal” one of these days. Just let a jerk like this jerk who calls himself “realist” bait you into trying to do “drive-by” tuff-talk stuff. bisker, basker, biffer, basher: you are making the entire brewster apologist camp look pretty scruffy, unkempt and low-rent with your “tuff-talk…” Collect your wits about you bisker, basker, biffer, basher dude or dudette which ever you may be.

It is ALL about Big Ten wins. The number of Big Ten wins tell us all we need to know about this brewster. Ditch this maturi NOW!

The unintentional comedy is growing greater by the day with the comments on this blog. The 3rd grade level education is shining through with some of the drivel on here. I’m looking at you Renegade.

BoBO- that’s the best you can come up with in regards to a de-commit? Oh no we lost a prized recruit punter in Nortman. Who cares! He’s a friggin’ punter! Although he was the Sconnies best player in the Champs Sports Bowl.

wren,

I will definitely keep the coward posters at bay, especially if they refer to a young kid as a “gimp”. If that’s somehting you condone then I pity you. Too bad you don’t have any “wits” to collect.

Bisker …. Whyne Renbawlbaby went out one day to collect his wits. Sadly, after many hours searching, he came home to his trailer with the thimble still empty.

d_a-C-off: This brewster character went out one day to collect his Big Ten wins. This brewster character’s thimble always has been empty.

Ditch this maturi NOW. Bring in an ad who can assess the football situation to do what needs to be done.

It is ALL about Big Ten wins.

Lewis is a good prospect, forgive the Pigeon fans, they are alittle testy after their worst recruiting year in decades.
