“Happy trails” to cowgirl Kristy Lee Cook

It was apparent that one of the gals would be going home tonight — none of them captured the essence of a Mariah Carey number as well as the guys — but not many Idol watchers thought it would be Kristy Lee Cook.

Hi- it’s Remote Island guest blogger Lynn Underwood on the American Idol results show.

Kristy Lee  shined on the country flavored ”Forever” and it wasn’t only because of her glittery eye shadow and silver cocktail dress.

I was a little sad to see her go — she always had an upbeat attitude,  even when Simon said she should be ”hypnotized” to learn how to perform on stage, was ridiculed for the Beatles “8 Days a Week” disaster and consistently landed in the bottom three for many weeks.

Plus - In the call-in segment - a viewer asked Kristy if she was able to buy her horse back.  She replied that the man she sold it to for money to travel to the Idol auditions would not sell her horse back to her!

She really had a bad day.

Powerhouse singer Carly Smithson seemed to be on the cusp, but maybe covering the arm tattoos with an elegant long-sleeved dress helped attract the above age 30 vote.

According to an interview on EW.com, Michael Johns had planned on singing a Mariah Carey’s ”Vision of Love.”  What a major loss!!!

Do you think “just call me Carole King” Brooke White and “second string Whitney” Syesha Mercado deserved to be in the bottom  three?

And will it be a  showdown between the two Davids for the finals?

I don’t know about you — but I’m pumped for Andrew Lloyd Webber week. I can’t wait to  hear the ”Go, Go Go Joseph” group number.

Kristy Lee will have a fine career in country. She sings just as well as Pickler and is better looking. She’ll make enough money to get her horse back.

Never thought Kristy Lee would win, but Brooke White should have been the one to go home last night. Her phony faces and holier-than-thou-attitude have become tiresome. Besides, one Carole King was enough.

Syesha should have gone. I don’t know about anyone else, but there are so many people out there that sing just like her…i can’t distinguish between her and say 15 other singers….then again, that could be said for Kristi Lee Cook as well. Maybe this is the beginning of the stretch where unremarkable begins to go. Carly may be the next to go.

I really thought it would be Brooke going home. She looks to me like she is going to cry at every given moment. Her voice is OK on certain songs but I agree with Wilson…”Her phony faces and holier-than-thou-attitude have become tiresome.” I have had enough of her. All the power to the Davids.

Why is this on the front page of the startribune and we wonder why readership is at its all time low???

It was time for Kristy Lee to go. She should have been gone 4 or 5 weeks ago. I used to be a Brooke White fan, and she is still very talented, but stop talking when the judges are giving their critiques! I think that has taken away from her likeability. I said in an earlier blog that I don’t want David Cook to win, because he is the best and if he wins Idol will lock him into doing sappy, uninspired songs…(see Kelly Clarkson and her battle, Ruben, Fantasia, Taylor and Jordin). Taylor Hicks won’t even mention AI in interviews anymore becasue he feels they ruined his chance at making it big. That being said Archuleta will win…the teen girls dig him…

As much as I enjoy Brooke, I do not think she will last much longer. All of her songs sound the same - she needs to branch out more. Syesha and Kristy Lee are doing better than I thought they would. The one person I think needs to go, and go soon, is Jason Castro. I thought he sounded terrible!! This season is one of the hardest because they are all pretty good. However, I agree that the finale is probably, at this point anyway, going to be a showdown between the two Davids.

Is it just me or did Simon have a personal vendetta against Kristy. He seemed to hate her with passion. It’s as if she killed his childhood pet. And David A. is just a balladeer, we saw what he did when he sang an up tempo song, he butchered ‘We can work it out.’

I might be the only one saying this, but David Archeletta should go. Admittedly, I am not in his target audience (I am not a 13 year old girl), but hearing the same thing every week is getting REALLY old. He does one thing well—sing ballads—but I am not ever going to buy any of his music.

This post is very confusing. Who introduces themselves after the first paragraph? Then what’s this?
>>Plus - that guy who bought her horse that she sold for money to travel to the Idol auditions — wouldn’t sell him back to her!

Are we supposed to know “that guy” — ? You’re writing publicly, not to your journal.

Kristi Lee was HOT, but certainly not the best female singer. As for David A ( nasal boy) , he can sing, but needs the sinus medicine before belting out a song. He may also need to go?

Syesha has been screeching for weeks now and should have been gone long ago. KLC was getting better every week… would have never but Syesha will be in the “where are they now” file within a week of getting the hook. tattoo girl already burned through a 2 million dollar contract and couldn’t make it… David C is looking more likely to win every week.

Dialidol.com let me down this week…

Does anyone else think Simon wants to get with Brooke White? She is not a good singer, last night proved it, and she is still on there!

Steve, what’s your deal? Do you have a personal vendetta against the writer?

I didn’t find this post confusing at all, so your issues are strange. She never talked about “that guy” and it was far from a journal entry.

Please go explore your negativity elsewhere.

Megan — thanks for sticking up for me.
Since my first post - I’ve made it more clear in the blog who bought Kristy’s horse and that it was addressed during the call-in segment.
