Oprah. Ellen. Regis & Kelly. John & Rebekah.

John & Rebekah? Yep, they are the new hosts of “Twin Cities Live,” the KSTP afternoon talker that debuts Monday. We take a behind-the-scenes look at the daily program in Sunday’s paper (feel free to share your thoughts here).

I’ll say upfront that I’m rooting for ‘em. The market has long deserved an afternoon talk show with a local bent and “TCL” seems to be focusing on the right things: Cheap outings, local music, family-friendly tips, exercise, local restaurants. But is there enough content to fill an hour every weekday? More importantly, is there enough local guests?

Being a good host is tough - but so is being a good guest. One reason you see the same “experts” show up on so many shows is that there is a dearth of good people who can be witty, insightful and quick on their feet in a five-minute segment. How many people within driving distance of the KSTP studios fit that bill?

That will be the biggest challenge for the fledgling show - so let’s help them out. Who do you know that should be on their guest list? Share your thoughts here and I’ll pass them along…
