Carly Leaves “Idol” What?!

Okay, I am now taking donations because apparently I have to go buy all of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s soundtracks since Brooke White is safe and I lost my bet! Tonight’s show has got to be one of the signs of the apocalypse. That’s being melodramatic, I know, but still…. what is up with Brooke and Jason being safe and Carly and Syesha being in the bottom two?

Hi everyone. It’s Hilary Dickinson again back to talk about tonight’s show. I know Carly and Syesha have landed in the bottom three before, so tonight’s results wouldn’t ordinarily have surprised me. But, Syesha was totally in her element last night and Carly did really well. Even Simon said it was one his favorites of the night, and that man doesn’t like anything- not even cuddly puppies and ice cream.

Brooke totally deserved to go home. She just doesn’t have the pipes, she’s way too insecure to be an American Idol and she totally messed up  last night. As for Jason, even Webber said that was the “most curious song choice I’ve known in my career.”

Well time to pick up my jaw and move onto the rest of the show.

I didn’t know why Ryan Seacreast said not once, twice, but three times that last night was the “most dramatic” show. I know Brooke messed up, but what else was dramatic about it? I know I’m just asking for it by saying this, but I  liked Leona Lewis’ performance more than the group performance. The group performance was kind of lackluster to me, but at least it wasn’t as corny as some previous group performances have been. Normally, those Ford commericals are corny also, but tonight was more scary than corny with all the contestants punked out. The graphics mixed into the video were pretty cool though and reminiscent of “Heroes.”

I enjoyed the update on past “Idols” on Broadway. I’m a big fan of Clay Aiken (yeah… I know) and Tamyra Gray, so that was cool to see what they are doing. (I was not a fan of Clay’s long hair though!)

What did you guys think of tonight’s show? Are you as shocked at the results as I am? And are you Andrew Lloyd Webber fans as excited to hear Neil Diamond music next week?
