What HBO doesn’t love

SHe loves me, she loves me not. Just two weeks ago, HBO was fawning about a second season of “Tell Me That You Love Me,” an absolutely terrible show that bordered on pornography. Actually, that’s an insult to pornography. Looks like the network finally agrees. It’s now decided to drop the series. “Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, we were unable to find the direction of the show for the second season,” creator Cynthia Mort said.
Direction? I guess they couldn’t go any further south than they did.
Is anyone going to miss this garbage?

I’m glad they decided to cancel it — one season was plenty, and even the one season seemed like at the end, storywise, it had nowhere to go. I thought there were some redeeming qualities (Jane Alexander was a compelling actor, and I still like Tim DeKay from his days in Carnivale), but the characters on the show ranged from mildly likeable to totally grating (the “young” couple). Besides, with the large number of new shows in development/production that look much more interesting, I can see how HBO would decide they don’t need this one anymore.
I’ve never seen a show that makes sex look less sexy than this one, as well.
