Oscars Fashion: One-shoulder trend emerges

Sara says: Marisa Tomei probably shouldn’t wrestle anyone in this Versace dress. She looks stunning though in the pale dove gray tiered gown. The one-shoulder thing? It’s officially a trend. It’s been on the runway (and the red carpets) for a few seasons now.
The train works here with the dramatic layering, but I’m not a big fan of the train thing… seems too bridal or too old-school or something.
Claude says: Marisa Tomei’s one-shoulder white gown has more fabric than her entire wardrobe as a stripper in “The Wrestler.”

I’m fascinated by the elaborate construction of that dress. Wow.
It is really quite a stunner! It’s pretty because it’s so elaborate, but not overdone. A tough balance, for sure.
