What’s my score?

We’re all familiar with the credit score. But AG Edwards sent me an email today with a new site that helped me calculate my nest egg score.

My nest egg score, based on net worth, percent of salary you save, income, home equity, and retirement horizon, and more is rated “good.” Not “excellent.” Just good.

Considering I’m just starting out and haven’t had that much time to save and don’t have much equity in my home, I feel comfortable where I am. I think like the credit scores, young people are penalized by these types of measurements for lack of histor. Just remember to factor in the value of interest compounding over time and the decades until retirement.
