Are you 401(k)-ok?

Cheesy, yes. It was a groan-inducing phrase that a virtual retirement guide uttered to me by a new online tool introduced to assess your nest egg.
Nationwide Financial released this retireability check today and I think it’s worth five minutes of your time.
I scored a 151. 100 and higher is considered a good score. I’d have a swank retirement at the rate I’m saving and I guess I just can’t believe it.
So I asked the spokesman about the assumptions the tool used. Here’s what he wrote:
RetirAbility Check builds on findings from The National Retirement Risk Index, released in June 2006 from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. Nationwide provided a grant to fund this research. The Index found that 43 percent of working American households are at risk of being inadequately prepared for retirement. Literally, the Index is saying 43 percent of households, if they continue on their path, will not have enough savings to continue their current standard of living in retirement.
