Online coupon clipping

I was trying to think back to the very first online purchase I ever made and I can’t for the life of me remember when it was or what I bought.

But since then, shopping online has become second nature to me and many other folks. And new tools are being introduced all the time to help us find the cheapest needle in the haystack and free shipping to go with it.

I must say I rarely find the shopping comparison sites helpful. And the advice to search for a coupon code for the store you’re “visiting” before you buy in the hopes of getting a coupon has never worked for me.

But I do like the concept of Cheap Uncle– a site that combines coupons with a shopping search engine. The layout is also easy on the eyes, unlike some other aggregators. And I found a better deal for a Christmas gift than I received at the mall the other day.

Tell me what shopping search engines, deal finders, or other sites you use regularly to save money. And if you can remember your first online purchase and the year, that would be interesting to see too.
