Money fights

Here are those love and money surveys I promised.

*60 percent of young couples surveyed argue at least once a month about money, according to a PayPal survey. Arguing about sex, on the other hand, came in fifth.

*Half of American couples share bank accounts.

*Cards are on the top of the list for gifts exchanged on Valentine’s Day followed by dinner dates and flowers. I say skip the cards. They’re a waste of money.

From Discover:

According to the results, respondents who plan to buy a gift for their spouse or significant other this Valentine’s Day will spend an average amount of $76.60, compared to last year’s average of $77.20. Women are more likely to reap the benefits of this holiday with men outspending them by nearly double. Men who plan to purchase a Valentine’s Day gift indicated they intend to spend an average of $98.20 on their significant other, down a bit from last year’s average of $100.10. Women said they plan to spend an average of $54.20, up from $51.20.

We’re going to Mexico for the first time (and sans kids) in 10 days (let’s start the countdown), so we’re not doing anything for Valentine’s day. How about you?
