One graffiti artist’s thoughts on the markets.

Sorry for the inactivity on Ka-Blog. I’ve been hit with some sort of contagion– not like a financial contagion, more like a raging cold. I’ll make it up to you next week.
Anyway, I’ve been catching up today and mulling over this phrase which welcomes me as I high-tail it off the 1-94 5th ave. exit into downtown every weekday:
“The markets are not working properly.”
Has anyone else seen this spray-painted message? I first noticed it sometime last week.
It’s the first economy-related graffiti I’ve seen in this downturn.
So…..how exactly do you interpret the tagger’s message? Do you think he/she is right?
One response to "One graffiti artist’s thoughts on the markets."
I’d bet that it has something to do with the self-checkout lines at the grocery store…
The real problem is people don’t understand how markets actually work… take for example our Government no one in Washington seems to have a clue how markets work including “economists” at the Treasury. They think markets should only ever grow at faster and faster rates and miss the point that sometimes when the chaff out weighs the wheat, the market needs to retract and get rid of the weakest parts to allow the strongest to move forward and drive the next piece of growth.
The financial markets tried to work just fine but some people decided they knew better and screwed with it.
