Joe is in Sarasota for the Reds. I hung back in Fort Myers today. Been in the pressbox watching J.D. Durbin throw (when is he going to pitch?), Kevin Slowey do his Orel Hershiser thing and Carlos Silva look for his sinker…..
Silva has a crowd of Twins watching him throw. There’s minor league pitching coordinator Rick Knapp, Class AAA Rochester pitching coach Stu Cliburn…and now Johan Santana has showed up to watch and offer encouragement. Everyone here knows the man has got to leave Fort Myers with his 2005 sinker or it could be another rough year.

This will be a short one today. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has learned about the Twins’ new piranhas commerical. Here’s how he responded to the Chicago Tribune:
Guillen was amused the Twins have used his description of the Twins as “piranhas” for commercials. “I have kids in college,” Guillen said. “At least they can send me a couple of hundred bucks. I think it’s good for baseball. When I get to Minneapolis, I’m sure somebody will buy me dinner. Finally I say something they can use.”
