Tyner is batting second tonight because Punto doesn’t have good numbers against Vazquez.

Kubel is 0 for 9 against Vazquez, so he’s not even in the lineup.

Word from the Twins is that Lew Ford could be here by the end of the week. Ken Harvey has begun playing at Class AAA Rochester.

As for the New Britain fight, it all began as a misunderstanding. Luke Hughes yelled at the Trenton pitcher after striking out. The next inning, J.P. Martinez lost control of a pitch and grazed the helmet of the Trenton catcher, who misread the situation and charged the mound.

Trevor Plouffe, by all accounts, was trying to be a peacemaker but got tossed and now is in line for whatever punishment the Eastern League decides on.
