On Deck: Twins Try To Pick Themselves Up

Luis Castillo, who wasn’t moving very well yesterday, is getting the day off. LNP is the 2B. L-Rod’s at 3B.
The guys were moving kind of slow today in the clubhouse. I think the last two games have taken a lot of out them. Regardless of if the umpires have done them wrong, the A’s didn’t have any problems last weekend whipping the Yanks.
Gardy and Terry Ryan were looking over the minor league stats before the game, but nothing’s looking good. Garrett Jones struck out four times last night. Jones has power when he makes contact, but he only has 11 homers.
Matt Tolbert’s batting average has plummeted to .326 after hitting in the .380’s earlier in the season.
They did notice that Ken Harvey hit a grand slam last night, but how long can he stay healthy?
And here’s a Rondell White update. I know, I know. How many of these do you have to read? Sorry, but he was penciled in as a starter coming out of spring training and has more power potential than what the Twins are putting out at third, left and DH.
White has been moved to the Twins’ Gulf Coast League rookie team so he can stay in Fort Myers and get his work in. He’s expected to play Thursday.
Terry Ryan’s take on Rondell? “Every time I think we’re close…” he said.
[UPDATE]: Jerry White usually takes out the lineup card before each game, but Gardy did it today. He yuked it up with the umpires and Larry Bowa at home plate. I’m guessing he wanted to make sure there were no hard feelings from last night so Santana doesn’t end up on the wrong side of ball-strike calls.Â
