With no idea when outfielder Rondell White will be ready to play, the Twins called up outfielder first baseman Garrett Jones from Class AAA Rochester.

Jones was batting .295 with 11 homers and 58 RBI at Rochester.

White, who’s now battling a sore left hamstring, is expected to play for the Gulf Coast League Twins in a couple of days. The Twins had hoped to activate White for the Oakland series before he came down with hamstring problems. Now the Twins must wait several days to make sure White is ready to play.

White has missed all but three games because of a torn right calf muscle, but hamstring problems of late have slowed down his progress during a minor league rehab stint.

In more uplifting news, congratulations to Sean Harlin, the Twins’ former media relations maven and current video coordinator. Harlin’s wife, Andrea, gave birth to new baby boy, Tadhgan Hughes Harlin. Tad checked in at 8 pound, 3 ounces and 22 inches.
