My top 20 list of prospects, a review….

Isn’t it great to talk about non-trade stuff.
I’m enjoying the posts on the prospects. Before I filed my list, I checked with some Twins folks for some suggestions. I find this a fun process but highly subjective.

For instance, John Sickels and Baseball America have Deolis Guerra ranked ahead of Tyler Robertson. Ol’ La Velle has decided to keep Guerra out of the No. 1 spot until he comes up with a third pitch. Am I nuts? So what. Robertson and Guerra are 1-2, which is the important thing.

I struggled with the final few spots. I only put Moses 20th after someone lobbied for him. I’ve seen Moses in spring training. He does look like he knows what he’s doing at the plate. This is a big year for him. He might end up in the outfield.

Erik Lis fans, I know you’re mad. I should have put him in the, `On The Cusp,’ list and Lis instead of Span is a legitimate argument.

I looked into Kyle Waldrop and was told he needs to start reaching his potential this year to get back in the top 20.

Jose Morales probably a cusp guy too. He’s a good contact hitter but I need to see him this spring. I remember watching him during catching drills and looking raw. Terry Steinbach told me at the time Morales just needed time.

Good catch on the Yohan Pino spelling. He’s getting close enough to the majors where that begins to matter….
