You saw how well that worked last year. Gomez can turn a game by himself. That is rare. No one will want to face him when the Twins need a run. If he gets on, you know it's going to be problems for that pitcher. And with Mauer, Morneau, Young and Cuddyer coming up, he can't just look to slide step one over and give the catcher a chance.
