Boof may be able to pitch his way into a set up role. He can come in and throw hard - plus he could eat whatever he wants and be happier.

mickey,

Twins are stuck with Livan, at least until September, I would say. Someone might take him in September. The Twins could release him a little before that.

Monroe has to be close to a release. They still owe him about 1.6 mil.

Everett may be kept. Middle INF are in short supply. The tomatoes, cigs, and, if that doesn't work, a release, is probably the plan, though. He's no longer owed much.

I don't know about Liriano, but they have to have someone better than Livan. Boof would be better than Livan.

I don't think anyone would take Cuddy's contract right now. I don't think a team can trade a guy on the DL, anyway.
If Cuddy comes back and really hits big, someone might take him, but then no one here will want to trade him.

I would say, at this point, release Monroe and send Gomez to AAA until September. The opposing teams have figured out Gomez. He needs to make adjustments. At AAA, he can work on his hitting approach. The kid has become an easy punch out. Check the stats I posted.

"I personally guarantee ..."

that made me laugh, craig, in a good way. and you're very likely right. on occasion they can package a guy. like, "ok, we'll give you cuddyer but you've gotta take lamb." i don't see it happening.

funny thing, i read that everett is eating tomatoes in a-ball. poor guy. have another smoke.

hey, do you think it's time to bring up liriano? if so, then what? livan isn't exactly trade bait, either.

As elated as Gardy was prior to tonight's game, Jim Leyland was not. On the Tiger's radio pre-game show he said that yesterday's loss was the most gut-wrenching loss since he started managing the Tigers. I guess tonight didn't help either.
