JC: Considering two starters likely go to the pen...which two would be the best options?

Perkins has experience in the Pen (don't know if he was there in the postseason or not), as does Blackburn.

I think Liriano and Baker are locks for the rotation (knock wood that Liriano continues to improve)

The best thing about Liriano is that he's only played in like 7 games. He'll likely be a very fresh arm comparred to the rest of the rotation.

Is Slowey the "third" starter depending on the schedule?

if you viewed my comments on Friday as meaning that Kubel only needed to get hot for three games

Gee Jason. Where would I ever get THAT idea from.

Does anyone care to agree with me that Kubel needs to get it going this weekend (or will I be obliterated for even suggesting such a thing)?

Keeping on dodging there Art.

Not really surprising that the Twins would swap out a pitcher to bring in a hitter at this point. While they may still make some adjustments before the end of the month, an 11-man pitching staff is pretty much what you would expect them to have on August 31 when playoff roster is set. You aren't going to need 12-13 pitchers for the playoffs because you'll only use 3-4 starters.

Oh, and Sweetone, the answer to your question about the O's/Sox games on Monday, I believe, is that they're playing both games in Baltimore but for the "suspended" game, the Sox will still be designated the "home team"... thus the "@ home".

Twins website says they sent Bass to the minors! Can they handle an 11-man staff?

"A very productive day today for the bullpen...it does help that they were playing the worst offense in the league"

Thanks some sanity and perspective, Doogie

Oh well, I'm sure the Twins aren't done making moves...
