I have not read too many bloggers or columnists who don't already believe the Twins got smoked on this deal. That does not mean the Twins should make it worse by giving Young away for low return. I have not read too many bloggers or columnists who don’t already believe the Twins got smoked on this deal. That does not mean the Twins should make it worse by giving Young away for low return.

Reason to trade Delmon:
- He still has some ‘top prospect’ value to many teams.
- If he has a 3rd straight lukewarm season (or worse) most of the ‘top prospect’ trade value he has left will likely be gone.

Reasons not to trade Delmon:
- He’s still young and could turn things around yet (http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/fantasy/article/breakout-party-delmon-young/).
- He’s still cheap, so if you can’t find a good return there is no good reason to deal him now - may as well hope for the best in that case.
