Too many games in a season to blame one road trip for not winning the title. If they would have won some games earlier in the season the division would have been wrapped up by the time they played the last west coast road trip

Jake,
JER HENNEN donated the money to the Twins to give them an $85 million payroll, so Burrell and Dunn are do-able.
Lighten up on the guy.
He is the Twins' highest donor.

JER HENNEN MUST HAVE HIS COMPUTER PERMANENTLY STUCK ON CAPS LOCK...AND HE MUST HAVE HIS HEAD PERMANENTLY UP HIS @SS...because there is no way we trade 2 pitchers to get Atkins and Hardy and then sign Burrell and Dunn. Why don't we just get Pujols to play 1B, A-Rod to play 3B, Utley for 2B, Rollins for SS, Holliday in LF, Beltran in CF, Ichiro in RF and we can get for our starters, Santana, Peavy, Webb, Lincecum and...David Price just to have a young guy in there. Frickin' moron.

LaVelle said: "...like they are convinced they’ll have Danny Valencia and Luke Hughes ready to take a spot by 2011."

Okay, like I'll be ready to get interested in the Twins in 2011.

Happy New Year!

Thrylos,

The Murray Chass piece was inaccurate anyway. Alex Escobar is represented by the Wasserman Group, not Yunel Escobar. They wouldn't have even had to negotiate anyway really; they could've just minimally increased his salary whether he liked it or not.

Fun idea, though. Imagine the heat they'd take if they dumped Yunel or traded him just to prove a point though... can't ever see a team making a move like that, but it'd be entertaining. :)
