Reliever Bobby Korecky was claimed off of waivers by Arizona on Wednesday, a move that clears the way for the Twins to officially add reliever Luis Ayala to the 40-man roster.
The Twins had waited to announce signing until Ayala had a physical and space was cleared on the roster.
Korecky, 29, was 2-0 with a 4.58 ERA in 15 games with the Twins last season. It was his first major league season. Korecky came to the Twins with Nick Punto and Carlos Silva in the Eric Milton trade in 2003.
