The Twins today activated catcher Joe Mauer from the 15-day disabled list and assigned pitcher Juan Morillo outright to AAA Rochester. The move means the Twins will carry three catchers for the immediate future: Mauer, Mike Redmond and rookie Jose Morales.

Mauer was placed on the DL with inflammation of the right sacroiliac joint on April 2 (retroactive to March 27). He played in five games during his rehab assignment at Class A Ft. Myers, batting .400 (6-for-15) with two walks, two doubles and four RBI.

Morillo was claimed off waivers April 17 from Colorado and made three appearances for the Twins.

Mauer is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Twins begin a three-game series against Kansas City.
