Smith is well on his way to becoming the Twins very own McHale. Crede was his best work and that’s a no-brainer that he almost screwed up. The failures are obvious. The Twins are in danger of wasting the career of one and maybe two Hall of Famers by not building a full team around them (sound familiar to any KG fans).

Bill Smith has made so many lunkhead moves like the Santana for a bag of rocks trade and the Garza/Bartlett fiasco (coupled with Monroe, Lamb, Livan, Eddie G, etc) that he won’t make any trades for fear of being exposed even more as the worst GM in MLB. Giving LNP the increased salary and re-signing him says a lot about his baseball acumen.
Now is the time to get rid of Punto, call the Garza/Bartlett swap a disaster and deal Delmon, send Buscher down to AAA, and bring up some young players or make a GOOD trade for prospects.
I hope this is Smith’s last year, anyone in the real non-baseball world would have gotten a pink slip a long time ago if they performed at his level.

Let Cuddy be “day-to-day” on the dl and bring up one of the AAA hotshot infielders to give him a good 10 day look. Something has to improve there for us to move up - especially the bottom 4 hitters.

I meant cheap twins sarcastically at the people who were saying that about them when they wouldn’t spend more to get Prior. Because Mauer is doing so great, but I remember the uproar against them for not taking Prior, so I was poking fun at those that called the twins cheap. I’ve always hated it when someone calls them cheap!!!
