Twins cross their fingers that Glen Perkins can end this mess

Michael Cuddyer is available to pinch hit today, but the goal is to have him rest his back today and tomorrow and fire out on Tuesday against the demolished Cleveland Indians.

Brendan Harris is taking grounders at first base, instead of Cuddyer, in case he’s needed to fill-in for Justin Morneau. Sounds like Gardy is going to give Morneau either a DH day or a day off during the road trip.

Francisco Liriano threw in the bullpen this morning. No one sounded the alarm to Gardy by the time he spoke with us, so he’s expecting Frankie to start on Wednesday.

The goal today is to see as little of Nate Dahmann, the bullpen catcher, as possible. If he’s visible, it means he’s warming up a reliever. And that’s not good for this club right now.
