Going up
Posted on September 17th, 2007 – 11:25 PMBy Jason Hammond
I got to the site this morning and was more than a little eager to see the first of the wall panels go up. The crew from Berget Construction were already there and had started to snap lines for the sill plate on wall. They were waiting for Curt from Panelworks Plus to show up so we could get started placing the first of the panels. Corey from Benedict and Associates arrived and the crew got started putting the double sill plates on the walls around the garage. The second of the two plates is used to attach the bottom flange of the panels. by 9 am the first panel was being tipped into place and another big step in completing our home was underway. Tomorrow the roof panels and trusses arrive and they should have the first floor finished.

Setting the first of two sill plates.

Preparing the panel by attaching a 2×6 stud.

On 3.

The first panel goes into place.

A days work and half the first floor is completed.

we’re living vicariously through you these days - and anxious to see more pictures!! hope it’s going well….
To everyone out there following Jason’s adventure, I would like you to know that Jason is not afraid to get his hands dirty or arms full of panel adhesive and foam as the case may be after his day of setting SIPs on Wednesday. Although he may be missing some of the hair on his arm, he is rapidly earning a new honorary title.
Jason, the SIP industry is proud to welcome you to the unoffical ranks of “Panelheads”
