I agree that the fireplace look could be cool but my only concern is having to have the panels would mean they would either need to stick into the room a fair amount or I would to pump into the boys closet in order to hide the components.

		<description>I think doing something like your fireplace would look great, and fit well with the house.  It would provide a space for the cables, and you could hinge some of the panels to provide space for dvd, cable box.....</description>
