The Homeowner: Jason Hammond

As a kid growing up in western Wisconsin, art was always a big part of family life. My parents were always quick to encourage my creativity. I’d be inside drawing as often as I was outside playing sports.
This passion for art and creativity led me to pursue a degree in graphic design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. After graduation, I landed a job in a St. Paul design firm. There, I met and worked with my best friend and wife, Stacy.
Today I am a husband, father of two, and designer by trade. I work for a small creative firm in St. Paul called Mojo Solo, but design impacts my life on a daily basis outside the office.
Whether it’s the clothes I buy or the magazines I read, design has a great influence on what I do and who I am. In particular I am drawn to modern contemporary or MoCo design with its use of simple materials and minimalist line work. This passion for design has made this house project into a bit of an obsession for me. I have joined a dozen or more online communities related to modern design and have been scouring the internet for resources that offer modern design products.
I believe that by making good design decisions, you can influence and improve the lives of people while having a positive impact on the world.
