Super Bowl, home(Cow)boy

Tonight’s preseason game could be the Vikings’ farewell to old Texas Stadium. Barring playoffs, of course. And a playoff meeting definitely is possible.

The Vikings should win the NFC North. But the Cowboys should win the entire NFC, and the guess here is they’ll beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIII.

With 13 Pro Bowlers, 20 starters, the head coach and both coordinators back from a 13-3 team, the Cowboys are confident they won’t be stumbling in the playoffs this year like they did against the Giants in last year’s divisional game at Texas Stadium.

The Cowboys are so confident that they didn’t panic in the offseason. They didn’t rip apart the coaching staff or make a bunch of moves in free agency.

They added a solid veteran presence in LB Zach Thomas. He’ll help. And they took a chance on CB Pacman Jones. Say what you want about him off the field, but he’s an outstanding player who will help them on defense and special teams. One has to believe the guy has been through enough trouble with the league and the law that he is ready to behave himself for one season.

The Cowboys also made one of the best picks of the first round in taking Arkansas RB Felix Jones. The combination of Jones and Marion Barber III in his absolute prime will be something to watch.

QB Tony Romo has struggled late in the season, but he’s too good and surrounded by too much talent not to move past that. T.O. is still a great player at 34. The tight end, Jason Witten, is like a No. 2 receiver, which takes the pressure off a thin receiving corps.

Yeah, Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game. Yeah, the Cowboys haven’t won one since 1996. Yeah, their regular season record after Dec. 1 since 1997 is 18-31.

But they’re too good to waste another season as the best team in the NFC.

Super Bowl, Cowboy.

Oh boy. I can’t believe that the Cowboys still control me. I suppose they will be called America’s team again, which makes me sick to my stomach.

I still can’t get over how they cheated us in 1974- 34 years ago. Talk about holding a grudge!

And I have a hard time thinking they could be good. The Vikings should be able to crush them which will make me very happy.

The Cowboys, I wouldn’t mind them so much if it wasn’t for Jerry Jones. He’s such a jerk!I’m taking bets on how many of them will be jail bound by the end of the season!(LOL)I liked them when Aikman and Moose Johnson played, but, I’ll never get over by what we lost when we traded with them to get Hershel Walker.

Not sure the Cowboys are the ones to blame for the walker trade? and for the record I did not hate Aikman or Moose but I’ve never liked the cow Boys.

I dont care much for the Cowboys, but I think they absolutely hit a dinger with Felix Jones. That kid looks like AP minus a few moves and few steps.

add one “Nice article Mark”
Just because you’re a Vikes fan that hates the Cowboys (thats fine, so do I) there is no need for the insults.

From a football standpoint , there is not a lot to dislike about the Cowboys. They can pound you with the run and have a fast and athletic defense that can get after you. I agree that games need to be played on the field but this is an awfully talented team that can win in a lot of different ways.

Make that 2 for mancrush.

Cowgirls will implode once pacgirl jones and TO get in an argument over who has the best drug dealer.

This team has way to many personality issues to overcome a couple of losses, so if they don’t do really well out of the gate, they will eat each other alive.

Not a Vikes fan. Don’t dislike them, either.
