Good luck ranking by power

You’ve probably noticed that NFL power rankings across the land aren’t worth the cyberspace they’re printed in.
Heading into tonight’s slaughtering of the Browns (NEXT-MORNING UPDATE: See what I mean, eh?), the top 10 from my rankings last week went a combined 2-5, while the bottom 10 went a combined 3-5.
No. 32 (Rams) beat No. 2 (Redskins), so, what the heck, maybe No. 26 (Browns) will beat No. 1 (Giants) later on this evening.
For this week’s rankings, it feels like the Redskins should drop significantly. But how do you rank them behind the Cardinals and Cowboys, which they beat and have the same record as?
You think maybe the Bills should be higher, but they really haven’t beaten anybody. And how do you rank them ahead of the Cardinals after the Cardinals crushed them?
I like the Chargers, but at 3-3, you can’t rank them ahead of 4-2 teams Carolina and Denver. Carolina got crushed by Tampa Bay, and Denver lost at home to Jacksonville, but both teams beat San Diego.
The Vikings? I moved them to No. 20 from No. 22. You can’t rank them ahead of the Packers, and I think there are four other 3-3 teams that are better than the Vikings (Jaguars, Chargers, Bears and Eagles). But I do give them credit for winning a game they easily could have lost.
Only five NFL teams have won this season when having a turnover differential of minus-2. The Vikings on Sunday were one of them.
