Former Star Tribune reporter Peg Meier forwarded this translation of an item published in Svenska Amerikanska Posten, a Minneapolis-based Swedish-language newspaper:

J.T. Mannix, for many years employed at the local office of the St.
Paul paper, the Pioneer Press, has accepted a position with The
[Minneapolis] Tribune. The first mentioned paper has been completely
pushed out of Minneapolis. Instead of having a big luxurious office
and a complete staff of reporters, not to mention a circulation of
10,000 copies of their paper in Minneapolis, as the case used to be,
it now has only a corner of a coal office, with a boy taking care of
the entire “business,” which consists of distributions of about 50
complimentary copies.
