Newspaper design, 1894-1991

A question for readers who might be anxious about the launch of the redesigned Star Tribune this week:
What if the Minneapolis newspapers known variously as the Tribune, Star, Journal, Star Journal, Morning Tribune and Star Tribune, Newspaper of the Twin Cities, had never redesigned? Here’s a sampling of front pages from the Star Tribune’s gray — and more recently green — past. Have a look and let us know what you think:
Sept. 3, 1894: A CYCLONE OF WIND AND FIRE! [467K gif] 5 cents
May 9, 1915: HUNDREDS ABOARD LUSITANIA ARE BELIEVED LOST [557K gif] 1 cent
May 22, 1927: LINDBERGH LANDS IN PARIS [507K gif] 6 cents
Aug. 8, 1945: ‘HIROSHIMA WENT UP IN ONE PUFF’ [536K gif] 3 cents
April 30, 1975: Saigon surrenders [617K gif] 15 cents
Nov. 8, 1991: Magic Johnson has AIDS virus, retires [567K gif] 35 cents

i was wondering how i could get a copy of the, May 9, 1915: HUNDREDS ABOARD LUSITANIA ARE BELIEVED LOST [557K gif] 1 cent newspaper. is it possible? what about a high res digital file? thanks!
Hi, Michelle. Thanks for writing. I scanned that image from an oversize book chock full of front pages from the Star Tribune dating back to 1867. I don’t recall the title, but if you can find a copy in a library I’m sure you could scan the Lusitania page at a much higher res. Of course, you’d need a laptop and a good scanner.
Ben
What were the paper’s leading stories on september 29, 1984?
