I am trying to find out more about Joachim Bar from Ottenbach, Switzerland. I am related to the Bar (Bahr, Baer) family line.
Thank you.

Could this line of bahr's be related to Melchior and Johannes Bahr that landed in Philadelphia on September 30, 1743 and settled in Lehigh and Northampton and Berks counties in PA. I can trace this ancestry back to Jochim Bar in Ottenbach, Switzerland in 1530.

Thank you for any possible links,
jim Baer

This story isnt about gender, its about the will of a pair of human beings. It was a remarkable journey, it was a dangerous trek, but when its all said and done, its about the will to perservere.

I look forward to reading the book, the teaser article here was enough to make me want to read what else they experienced.

I came across Bold Spirit at a seminar and found the Estby's story so riveting I couldn't put it down. This book is a must-read for any woman who feels put upon by the hardships of modern life. It'll make you appreciate both how far women have come and the inner strength and fortitude we have always had.
