We Fest: Day 3

Music critic Jon Bream reports from Detroit Lakes:

The last day was the best — from start to finish. The weather was sunny, then overcast, then sunny, then cloudy but pleasant all the day. The music was more consistent on Saturday.

Newcomer Trent Tomlinson came across like the Next Big Thing. The women will tell you he’s hot. The title of his debut tells you what you need to know about his music: “Country Is My Rock.

Yes, B&R got kicked out of the VIP because they STOLE the golf cart!!!

Evonne Langseth was way better than Angie Dvorak, it wansn’t even a comparison. I think she sang Martina’s song better than she did and her other song was great as well, i think well be seeing more of Evonne’s name in the future, keep your eye out for her!!

All I can say is this Evonne did great! She controlled the stage and the audience’s attention. Her original song “I Want A Lexus” grabbed people’s attention and held it. If you have forgotten that bit because of your prejudice against karaoke singers doing Martina songs, go to aberdeenrecording.com and listen to it again, then tell me Evonne didn’t deserve all the acolades she received. Evonne sang Martina better than any karaoke singer I have heard, and I have heard a lot being the business manager for a karaoke company with 5 employees.

evonne and i were really close friends in high school, but i didn’t get a chance to hear her sing at we fest because i live out of state. i also don’t have access to the aberdeen website because i am on my work computer. Is it a possibility to get the song sent to me so i can hear her? it would be much appreciated!!!! thanks!
