Caught this Twin Cities Afro-Cuban jazz group Sunday at the Dakota. The quintet features three members of Mint Condition, and this setting really gives saxoponist Jeffrey Allen and drummer Stokley Williams opportunities to shine. Williams, Mint’s lead singer, is a monster drummer. And Allen is an emotional soloist. Overall, Joto has tremendous percussion and rhythm work. They really cooked on Sunday!
