It was a night full of too much emotion. Some sadness, a few laughs, lots of beauty, a little politicsand a tremendous amount of rewarding music.

What did you think of this tribute to the Red House Records’ guiding light?

For the record, here’s who played what:

1. Peter Ostroushko, “Sacred Heart” to a montage of Red House album covers and photos of Bob and his family

2. Greg Brown, “Song for Bob”

3. Eric Peltoniemi, “How Many Times”

4. Trova (Peltoniemi, Ruth MacKenzie, Jeffrey Willkomm), “Beautiful People”

5. Claudia Schmidt, “Chickadee Blues” (brought much-needed levity) and “Bend in the River”

6. Dean Magraw, “Amazing Grace” instrumental and “All Along the Watchtower”

7. John Koerner & Tony Glover, “Delia’s Gone” (with both of them playing harmonica) and “Lost and Lonesome Blues”

8. Eliza Gilkyson, “Love Minus Zero” and “Tender Mercies”

9. John Gorka, “The Gypsy Life” and “Writing in the Margins”

intermission

1. Robin & Linda Williams, “Old Plank Road” and “50,000 Names on the Wall”

2. Dave Moore, “Just a Dog” (w/ Magraw & Ostroushko) and “Magic Dust”

3. Prudence Johnson, “River” (w Schmidt and MacKenzie)

4. Cliff Eberhardt, “Missing You” and “The Long Road” (w/ Gorka)

5. Peter Ostroushko, “B&B Waltz” and “Heart in the Heartland”

6. Greg Brown, “Further In”

7. Prudence Johnson, “Goodnight”

8. entire cast, “Sweet Soul Music”

I haven’t heard of any of these people. Not a one.

How about posting blog topics that we can all discuss. Is this your full time job?

The previous poster doesn’t have a clue of the fine music he’s missing. If he didn’t know of these artist, why take the time to post? Seriously, I thought Greg Brown looked incredibly uncomfortable singing with Prudence and with the entire group. I am sure some of these people have histories with Bob and with each other and that makes for some awkward moments. My favorites were Dean Magraw, John Gorka and Cliff Eberhardt. Excellent choices by most of the people performing.
