Kid Rock @ Target Center

Kid Rock lives in an exurb called Mass Appeal, residing at the intersection of four well-traveled streets — where Outlaw Country Rd turns into Classic Rock Av. and where R&B Lane morphs into Hip-Hop Circle.
On Saturday at Target Center, the pride of Detroit put on a high-energy, highly entertaining, crowd-pleasing show. He’s a free-wheelin’ entertainer who doesn’t take himself seriously but is serious about having fun. He didn’t spend the show bashing his ex-Pamela Anderson like he did last time through town at the Myth. He came to party with 6,000 people.
The concept for his show was a rock ‘n roll revue. Kid Rock did his hits, tunes from his latest CD “Rock & Roll Jesus” and a few covers. And he brought along two guests who havent been on an arena stage in years — Peter Wolf, former frontman of the J. Geils Band, and Rev Run from Run D.M.C. Both remain fun-loving and fun-producing entertainers. In fact, the goosebump-giving highlights for me were J. Geils’ “I Must Have Got Lost” and Run D.M.C.’s “Walk This Way,” with Kid Rock willingly playing duet partner and hypeman.

It was the best concert I have seen in a long time, it was entertaining and the music was great! I didnt want it to end!
I liked it when Kid Rork came out adn wases like My amne is Kiiiiiiid Rokc! Fun sowh with party atlasphere.
Kid Rock has grown up with his audience, this was the first of 6 of his concerts that I wish I would have allowed my my 15 y/o daughter to attend with me. Little bit of swearing is better than the strippers in cages dancing and naked audience members. And decides the people watching is always as entertaining as the concert.
Jon, your spot on with the review of the show. anyone who has never seen a kid Rock show has missed a fun time..”All Summer Long” is a summertime anthem. Also liked(for adults only)”So Hot”.
I was very surprised! I planned to see Peter Wolf and Rev Run and jet as soon as “My name is KiiiiiiiiiiiiiD” started blasting through the PA. The revue format didn’t really allow that. The Kid put on an entertaining show and won me over. Props to him for taking a couple of icons on the road and for thanking the audience for buying his tix during these tougher economic times. And Rev Run reminded me how much I loved Run DMC and how fun early rap music was before it was coopted by gangstas. BTW Woofuh Goofuh–Please tour!!!!!
It was my first kid rock show, but I have been a fan since his early material,he has come a long way and even though he looked a lil rough,it was hot in there.5th row tix i was extremely satisfied with his performance, security hassles though.next time ill leave my dugout at home.
