Mark Knopfler @ Orpheum

What was up with the sound guy? Why did he bury Knopfler’s voice in the mix for soooo long? As I stated in my review, exceptional band, great guitar shadings by Knopfler and a fair balance between Dire Straits and solo material. This show was on par with Knopfler’s 2005 Orpheum performance and much more satisfying than his collaboration with Emmylou Harris in ‘06 in the same building.
Here is the set list from Saturday:
1. Cannibals 2. Why Aye Man 3. What It Is 4. Sailing to Philadelphia 5. True Love Will Never Fade 6. The Fish and the Bird 7. Hill Farmer’s Blues 8. Romeo & Juliet 9. Sultans of Swing 10. Song for Sonny Liston 11. Marbletown 12. Speedway at Nazareth 13. Telegraph Road ENCORES 14. Brothers in Arms 15. So Far Away 16. instrumental (title???)
What did you think of the concert? Please post your comments here:

What about the Crosby Stills and Nash concert on Friday? Do they not matter anymore???
or Pansilca Building Blokc arty.
I thought your review was right on. We very much enjoyed the show and found the band to be not only very talented but personable too. That drummer is superb! He really has the stamina. Although my husband and I are baby boomers our “kids” felt it was worth every penny. I sure wish the audience would be a little more respectful though because I didn’t like the hoots and whistles while the violinist was trying to create a subtle, magical spell with the music. Also, how come the ushers let people walk in and out during the songs? There was a 40 minute break between the opening act and Mark Knopfler, for Pete’s sake! It shouldn’t be too hard to wait. All in all, it was a great concert.
I love Mark Knopfler and this was the 4th time i have seeing him. This also was the best!I had close seats the first 2 times and this time i had the balcony.I find sitting farther away you have a better view of the lights and of the whole band even if your farther away.I kinda wish mark was more pesonable with the audience, but i know hes not like that.Still love him anyway!
Was the picture of mark from the minneapolis show?I dont remember him wearing that shirt?
last encore was theme from “local hero”
