I agree a bit. It's just that his stuff does not move me like it used to. Lots of my friends feel the same way. Although- that one CD he put out that listed the tracks in the wrong order was actually not bad.

And I am a Barry Manillow fan.

Hey BarryFan, you must have grabbed that moniker because you're a big barry manilow fan? just kidding, ha ha. i beg to disagree with you on PW being good on a good day. he's not a pop star. when will people or old mats fans realize that the guy is not trying to reinvent the wheel or reinvent himself like madonna does every 6 months. the guy writes left of center rock and roll. 'left of center' being used loosely because to me he is rock and roll in the full sense of the word. he does not follow trends. with out PW most of what you hear today and have heard through out the late 80s and 90s would not even exist. i'd rather hear a 4 trk demo from the guy than buy the latest swooped haircut white belt wearing tight pants havin crap that's out today...

Unfortunately Westerberg is just not as relevant as he used to be. He once was great and untouchable. Now he is good on a good day.

On the same blog .. what I love and hate about popular music.
Older but still interested, relevant musicians like Westerberg and Stinson making a plan to work together again (we hope.) But taking it slow until it's good enough .. until they have something to say.
And the corpses known as the Eagles continuing to assault and insult the American public with bland, lame Vegas-style review shows they pass off as a concert.
