Another coup for MySpace, you can hear Kanye West’s new album “808s & Heartbreaks” there for free starting today through Tuesday, when it goes on sale. Go to www.myspace.com/kanyewest. It’s definitely a different kind of record for the self-declared Voice of Our Generation, which could already be derived from the title (808s are a techno/dance beatmaking device) and from that first single/video you’ve probably already heard, “Love Lockdown.” The LA Times has a good writeup on it already, explaining the odd approach.
