As a life long Johnny Cash fan, and someone who has bought a lot of tribute cds… from the Kiss - Kiss My @$$, and even the death metal Kiss of Death… with various degrees of laughter… and Twisted Willie which was actually kind of good… Springsteen’s tribute cd was well done… and what Rob Zombie did for the Ramones is maybe the greatest ever WE’RE A HAPPY FAMILY…

This looks to be an all-time clunker.

The only thing I will say to it’s possible defense is that at a tribute to Johnny Cash about a decade ago now Wycleaf Jean did an amazing version of Deliah’s Gone which blew me away, and made me a fan of his ever since…

Snoop Dogg was pretty talentless to begin with, and some of the other bands, artists, rappers… whatever… wow…

This is about as pointless as a Megadeth Christmas CD without the schtick appeal.

I, uh, actually picked this up on vinyl at the Fetus a couple months back. I’ve listened to it once, and (probably not surprisingly) I can’t say I was impressed with it.

I just came across this video and thought of this post due to the, uh, interesting juxtaposition:

(fair warning for work people- it has volleyball cheerleaders “doin’ their thang”)

I’ve got to wonder the impetus of placing the song with the visuals…
