Local country singer Shane Wyatt – our nearest thing to a Kenny/Toby/Brad kind of hat act in town (although I think his originals are better than a lot of theirs) –will make his national TV debut on Saturday when he appears in “My Big Fat Redneck Wedding,” hosted by the great Tom Arnold and airing at 1:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on CMT locally. The episode he’s in is “Gary and Leann,” although I’m sure many of our regular music-blog readers already have the show season-passed on their Tivo. Wyatt and his guys are the wedding band in the episode, which was apparently a NASCAR-themed wedding taped last year. Laugh all you want, but the show could be another nice little break for Shane, who was recently recording in Nashville again.
