OK, here it is for real:
The Jesus Lizard (playing their first hometown show in 11 years!), Yo La Tengo, the National, Grizzly Bear, the Walkmen, Pharoahe Monch, Built To Spill, Tortoise and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart were the first acts announced today for the fifth annual Pitchfork Music Fest, happening July 17-19 in Chicago’s Union Park. Tickets go on sale a week from today.
Grizzly Bear, by the way, are confirmed for another cool Cedar Cultural Center show on June 7, tastefully booked there by the folks at First Ave. Here’s hoping they can also convince the Jesus Lizard to return to town at some point, in a city that always loved ‘em.
