Being a DirecTV subscriber and privy to some of the concerts on channel 101 (horrible lineup by the way) I would like to add a new category:

WORST NEW SUPERGROUP: Tinted Windows.
I don't think I could come up with more of a random assortment of band members than Hanson, Cheap Trick, Fountains of Wayne and Smashing Pumpkins. I am still appaled that James Iha is playing in the same band as Taylor Hanson. That is like telling me Pat Smear is playing lead guitar for the new Joe Jonas band.
It was even funnier to see Matt Pinfield intro the band and pretend to be excited about their "first show."

Good work as always Chris, you have quite the job perk.

Wow, I hope you're right about that Chris. She hasn't been here in 5 years, I believe. She's such a captivating performer, I can't wait to see her live again, and was jealous of all who got to see her down in Austin.

Actually, look for PJ here in MN this summer. That's another reason I left, but like I said I also didn't want to spend all my time seeing already well-established acts. I knew it'd get better with the older stuff, but that's not exactly news. But anyway, it proves how much SXSW is a high-wire act of tough choices.

Wow Chris-sorry to hear you left PJ Harvey early (who, from all accounts other than yours, absolutely ruled on Saturday night) in order to see a local band. I don't care how good they were, Polly and John are only playing three shows in the US, total, and you were lucky enough to be at one of them. It was an event, and it's really to bad you didn't stick around to see it.
